PLAN TO SELL the prius THIS fall(and buy the new Ford hybrid), the wive keeps giving me the Toy Prius to drive, so I can check out posible problems, latest break lock ups in wet weather! The Prius is clearly the least favorite to drive and the Ford Escape hybrid the desired ride in our family!

Full hybrids like the Ford Escape hybrid or the Ford Fusion hybrid get their EPA rated MPG when driven over 30 minutes per trip, under 55 mph, in warm weather, and if the driver accelerates and decelerates gently. A full hybrid like the Prius will get significantly below their EPA rating when driven hard, under 15 minutes per trip, in extreme cold, driven very fast around corner/bends, or/and driven at speeds over 70 mph.

gbhugva, and that is why Ford discontinued the hybrid escape and have only one hybrid in their current model mix....

Of course you only buy used anyway...

Ah yes, the multi-posting loser. Using that cut and paste all over the forum again, and again, and again. No wonder he drives an Escape Hybrid.

Ford Escape Hybrid is a better built veh. than the Prius, I have one of each, both driven equally. The Ford with 140K miles feels much more solid than the Toy with 103K on it. I don't care who sold more, the Ford wins in our family!

DETROIT (AP) - Ford is taking on Toyota in the hybrid market.

Ford Motor Co. said Thursday that its new C-Max hybrid small minivan will have a base price of $25,995 when it goes on sale this fall. That's $555 less than Toyota's Prius V wagon.

Ford says the C-Max's fuel economy will also beat the Prius V, which gets an estimated 42 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving.

Toyota Motor Corp. has dominated the hybrid market for more than a decade. In March, for example, 65 percent of the 50,000 hybrids sold in the U.S. were made by Toyota, compared with 3.5 percent for Ford.

Ford hopes to change that with the five-seat C-Max, which will be sold only in hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric versions.Fusion probably less than comprable Camry reb4!

"Ford Fusion Earns Autoweek's Highest Honor: Named Best in Show at North American International Auto Show"DETROIT, Jan. 12, 2012 -- /PRNewswire/ -- Just days after being revealed to the world, the new Ford Fusion is already bringing home awards. The Autoweek editorial staff has chosen Fusion for its Best in Show award at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).

The selection is based on one compelling measurement – the car people will remember most five years from now.

"It's very rare for a midsize sedan to win Best in Show," said Autoweek Editor Wes Raynal. "I think it's the first of a lot of awards the Fusion is going to win this year."

For more information, check out these links: For photos, click here and here. For video of the awards presentation, click here. To read the Autoweek story, click here.

The highest award from Autoweek comes just one day after the car received the prestigious Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology's EyesOn Design award at NAIAS.

Fusion brings alive the next generation of more expressive vehicles from Ford. It is the first sedan to offer gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions – each expected to deliver top fuel economy and an engaging driving experience.Hater reb4 is way off as ussual, also comparing tiny cars to midsize ones!

The prius is a small car, the Ford Escape Hybrid(still available) offers much more room. The new Ford C-Max which will pick up where the Escape leaves off will have more room than the largest prius V and be $555 less than the V.

Oh, I forgot todays cut and paste...My $ is in realistate, cars are a bad investment, we have too many to count, but never buy new. I'm waiting to crunch the numbers, I really want to replace this POS prius. Only thing good about it is the 40-41mpg. I think if the Ford C-max 7passenger, plug-in hybrid is offered I will bite the bullet and buy new. Make my wife happy and clean house or rather driveway. Sell the prius, Merc. V van, and some others, and get a newer Mustang too.

GBHUGVA, cutting and pasting the same thing in every thread you come across really shows that you don't want to answer the thread. Rather you want to spread your drivel across the forum. Hopefully, the forum moderators have taken note by now of your boring tactic.

reb4 I'm not a nerd that tracks sales for varius car companies, and I find the majority of your posts boring. Did you leave your help desk job for a Toyota salesman job, or do you own stock in toy? Do your own research, I could careless, and I don't own Ford stock so don't bother me with the numbers. I just like to promote American when I know they have a product just as good as asian ones.

So your saying safety is not an issue in Europe?

rear end collisions... I guess I'll leave that one alone, this time, they used to hire gays for help desk where I worked, becuase you guys are ussually very pollite.

No Bell its just quicker, so I don't waste too much time debating crap with you morons!

The Ford C-Max Hybrid will use higher-performance lithium-ion batteries and put out 188 horsepower, compared with the Prius V's 134 horsepower and nickel-metal-hydride cells. Ford's hybrid will also operate at up to 62 mph in electric mode, similar to the Kia Optima Hybrid. (Toyota hybrids cannot drive much faster than 25 mph on their batteries alone.)

"Honda like Toyota lies about MPG's, The wifes Prius got 40.3(395miles on 9.8gal) last fill NOT the 60/51 Toyota claims."

2004-2007 Toyota claimed 60 mpg city/51 mpg highway later in 2008 it was changed to 48 mpg city/45 mpg highway still higher than we get.

Our 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid gets 32.5 most of the time, paid 10grand
the wifes P.O.S. 2004 prius only gets 40.3 not 60 like they said, but she got it for 7grand, ok beater I guess, but the Ford is our favorite, better quality for sure!

reb4, that driving 30-40mph in 45-55limit roads will get you rear-ended, oh maybe your into that kinda thing!
