Excellent article! Since I am not pro-Oil Sand, it would be a good thing if Chavez were no longer in the picture.

Canada shouldn't get her hopes up regarding El Commandante Pocito's lifespan. He's getting his cancer treatment in Cuba.My God...even CASTRO refused to be treated there. He went to Spain!

I worked in the oil sands when the Venezualans came. They must be climatized by now and will stay in Canada.

I am not very sorry to say that Hugo and Castro have worn out their welcome.
Cuba is still doomed by another Castro.
Is there a Hugo Jr.? Lets hope not.
Lets not forget N.Korea also.

Sure, along the Gulf Cost, given the opportunity, post Chavez, they would likely opt for Venezuelan crude. But here in the land locked more northerly reaches of the U.S., we would probably continue to rely on Alberta crude.

Venezuela's loss is Alberta's gain. And the longer those expats are in Canada, the more likely that their move turns out to be permanent. . Denver's Suncor refinery gets crude both locally and from Alberta. Lucky us!

Most people will be anti-american only because we are the youngest and strongest nation in the world and our word is gold. Don't trust us, don't listen to us, don't hate us. but you better believe us when we say Don't Mess with the U.S.A. enough said.

I truly enjoy these geopolitical news clips. Would the US oil companies bail out of using Canada's gooey oil for Venezuel's sweet crude? Yeah sure! Gulf coast refineries profit margin would improve handsomely! On the other hand, it sounds like promises made to Cuba and China would complicate things not to mention the whole narco power struggle. These are the kind of things that effect us at the pump.

Venezuela had anti-American riots in the 50's, nothing will change if Chavez dies.
