The Strategic Petroleum Reserve is not quite as strategic as it used to be.

It doesn't. The call to tap these reserves is pure politics. Those who blame the president for these prices either are ignorant of economics or hate capitalism.

Thats for emergencies. Grossly inflated gas prices caused to a devalued dollar and an inept governing body hardly qualify. Leave the reserves alone. And quit devaluing the dollar! Maybe then, things will level off a bit. What am I thinking? As long as Chu and Obama want it inflated, it stays that way. No win for America right now.
