Forbes -- Five months into 2012, one thing is clear: cars are in the American auto industry driver’s seat. Through April, car sales have accounted for 53.2 percent of the American market, a 2.1 percentage point gain over 2011, according to statistics compiled by Autodata, Inc.

Putting 'Fiat's Chrysler' & Toyota in the same sentence is like compairing apples to rocks.

I assume everyone understands that this is not because the U.S. auto industry is going gangbusters. This is because the rest of our industries are in a recession, so the auto industry statistics look good by comparison.

Some of the changes are interesting, like the raise for Chrysler and Toyota, as well as the fall of Honda in auto sales. Of course, some of these changes are less than 5% in sales, which may not be a very much.
